Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 has officially been announced and is set to launch on July 11, bringing a wave of nostalgia to fans of the classic skating franchise. Activision had been teasing the reveal for weeks, using in-game hints in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and discounts on Pro Skater 1 + 2. Originally released in 2001 and 2002, the remastered versions will allow a new generation of gamers to experience these beloved titles with updated visuals and gameplay improvements.
The revival of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series began with the highly successful launch of Pro Skater 1 + 2 in 2020, earning critical acclaim and praise for its faithful recreation of the originals. However, hopes for a follow-up seemed uncertain after Vicarious Visions, the studio behind the remake, was merged into Blizzard Entertainment in 2022. With the developer shifted to supporting Diablo 4, many fans feared that Pro Skater 3 + 4 would never happen—until Activision confirmed the new project, now developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, which previously supported the Pro Skater 1 + 2 remake.
Players can expect to revisit iconic locations like an airport, a cruise ship, and a medieval-themed water park in the upcoming remake. Those who pre-order the digital deluxe edition will get early access on July 8, along with exclusive Doom crossover content featuring Doom Slayer and Revenant Skaters, themed skateboards, and in-game music. The game will be available on Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo Switch, with more details, including a Foundry Demo, expected to be revealed in the coming months.
