Mojang Studios is collaborating with Merlin Entertainments to bring Minecraft to life at theme parks in the UK and the US. As the best-selling video game of all time, Minecraft is joining the trend of gaming-inspired attractions, offering fans the opportunity to experience its iconic blocky universe in real-world settings.
Merlin Entertainments, known for LEGOLAND and Alton Towers, is investing $110 million into developing Minecraft-themed attractions, including rides, immersive experiences, and themed dining. These Minecraft lands are set to open between 2026 and 2027, with potential expansions planned for other locations worldwide, aiming to capitalize on the growing demand for video game-themed entertainment.
While detailed plans remain under wraps, teaser trailers and concept art hint at attractions like a block-style Minecraft Village and a possible roller coaster. Following the success of Nintendo’s theme park lands, this collaboration between Mojang and Merlin marks a new chapter in blending gaming with theme park experiences.
