Atlus has rolled out a new patch for Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, offering fresh content including new Demon Navigators, a subquest, and Elite Virtual Trainers. The update, which is free and available on all consoles and PC, builds on the enhanced version of the 2021 Switch-exclusive Shin Megami Tensei 5, now playable on additional platforms with expanded areas, demons, visual upgrades, and a new story path, Canon of Vengeance.
Update 1.03 introduces six new Demon Navigators, selected through a community vote, who guide players on the world map by locating items and providing quest hints. Additionally, a new subquest, “The Guardian of Light,” rewards players with Marici for fusion upon completion. This patch also unveils Elite Virtual Trainers as formidable new challenges, accessible after specific subquests, allowing players to test their skills against previous bosses in unique encounters.
The update also addresses several bugs, including text errors, visual glitches, and English voiceover tweaks, exclusively applying to SMT 5: Vengeance. Released in 2024 alongside Persona 3 Reload and Unicorn Overlord, Vengeance has added significant content to Atlus's portfolio of JRPGs, which have broken records, with Metaphor: ReFantazio setting a milestone with over one million units sold at launch.
