Sabotage Studio has recently provided an update on the upcoming DLC for their indie RPG, Sea of Stars. The DLC, titled Throes of the Watchmaker, was first announced in October 2023, shortly after the game's initial release. Described as mysterious and wacky, the expansion is now in production, with the developer promising more details later in 2024.
Sea of Stars quickly gained popularity among gamers with its colorful aesthetics, a nostalgic turn-based battle system, and a soundtrack by Chrono Trigger's composer Yasunori Mitsuda. The game’s success was highlighted by winning Best Independent Game at The Game Awards 2023. Fans have eagerly awaited news on the DLC since its announcement, and Sabotage Studio recently confirmed that production is progressing well.
The Watchmaker character, a subtle ally to the Solstice Warriors, is expected to play a significant role in the Throes of the Watchmaker DLC. Additionally, updates to the game's popular minigame, Wheels, might be included. Sabotage Studio has also teased a new three-player co-op mode, Single Player+, which will allow each player to independently control one of the three party members during exploration and battles. More information on both the DLC and new features is anticipated throughout 2024.
