Hogwarts Legacy Releases New Update for Switch, PS4, and Xbox One
Published 16 Jul 2024
The Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy have received a new update for July 2024. This update follows a recent release targeting the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X versions of the game by Avalanche Software. The latest update primarily fixes issues with Photo Mode and addresses various lingering problems, although some crashing issues still persist.

For the current-generation platforms, the update mirrors the fixes made for PC and newer consoles, including reducing collision and crashing problems for Switch players and improving stability for PS4 and Xbox One. Photo Mode, introduced in the June 2024 update, has been a significant addition that fans have been eager to use since the game's 2023 launch. The update notes for each platform detail the specific fixes and improvements made.

Despite these updates, some fan-requested features remain absent, such as the ability to manually change the seasons in the game. Once players complete Hogwarts Legacy, they are locked into a springtime version of Hogwarts, whereas some prefer the festive fall and winter settings. While future updates will likely continue to address glitches, significant content additions seem unlikely as the developers are rumored to be focusing on a potential Hogwarts Legacy sequel.
